Thanks to Jerry Earwood and to all the volunteers who went door-to-door registering voters last weekend before the deadline. We had great weather for the last-minute registration drive, and we are hoping that these new voters come out on November 2 and make a difference.

Factcheck (dot-com, not dot-org) apparently redirected visitors to Mr. Soros’s site with a twinkle in their eyes once they realized the VP’s error. Why We Must Not Re-elect President Bush

 

This is the most important election of my lifetime. I have never been heavily involved in partisan politics but these are not normal times. That is why I am sharing this message. I have been demonized by the Bush campaign but I hope you will give me a hearing.

 

President Bush ran on the platform of a ‘humble’ foreign policy in 2000. If we re-elect him now, we endorse the Bush doctrine of preemptive action and the invasion of Iraq, and we will have to live with the consequences. As I shall try to show, we are facing a vicious circle of escalating violence with no end in sight. But if we repudiate the Bush policies at the polls, we shall have a better chance to regain the respect and support of the world and to break the vicious circle. . . .

It’s definitely worth a second (or third, or fourth) look, assuming you’ve already seen it once. Convince your skeptical friends to watch it, too (here’s a tip: they’ll be more likely to watch it if you watch it with them).

Curtis Clinesmith is hosting a debate-watching party at Hannah's, 111 W. Mulberry in Denton, on October 13 from 6-10 pm for the third and final Kerry-Bush debate. The entire restaurant is reserved with the expectation of an incredible turnout. Donations will be accepted but are not required, and there will be a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting Kerry-Edwards Victory 2004. The debate itself begins at 8pm. Prior, there will be a screening of the new documentary, Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry, that begins at 6pm.
