Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote. --Andrew Lack

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

***Election Week Special Edition***

Okay folks, this is it! Tomorrow is Election Day--one of the most important elections of our lifetime. But you don't need anyone to tell you that. If you subscribe to this newsletter, chances are that you are already well aware of the momentousness of the occasion and of the possible consequences of four more years of George W. Bush and his extreme right wing policies. You are already aware of the end result of doing nothing, of sitting idly by and letting others elect bad officials. Yes, we live in Texas, but that doesn't mean that we can't do anything to avoid a Republican landslide. We can. We can make sure that those who want to vote actually make it to the polls, we can volunteer to work at the polls, and we can remind people that President isn't the only office up for election this year. We have a lot of work to do in Texas, but the work can and must be done. The alternative is simply unacceptable.
